Communications Policy and Practices
The Communications Office of the Archdiocese
of Portland is responsible for
coordinating all contacts with the media
concerning child abuse issues. It is the
practice of the Archdiocese to respond
to all media inquiries.
It is the policy and practice of the Archdiocese
of Portland to be open and "transparent"
as possible in matters related to issues
of child abuse. On-going litigation and
confidentiality agreements requested by
victims of child abuse will limit the release of
some information.
It is the policy and practice of the Archdiocese
of Portland to respect the confidentiality
of someone making an allegation of child
abuse when requested to do so.
