Catholic Deaf Ministry:

*  Serves the spiritual needs of members of the Catholic Deaf Community.
*  Develops and supports lay leadership among the Deaf.
*  Provides information and resources for parishes with Deaf members.
*  Advocates for the Deaf within the church and society.
 

Signed or Interpreted Liturgies are offered in various places on a regular basis.

Sacramental Preparation / Religious Education are provided according to individual
needs of the persons involved (i.e. in parish programs with interpreters, in classes with
other Deaf participants, or through private instruction).

Adult Education / Faith Formation is supported through our liturgies, bible study,
retreats, and faith-sharing groups.

Pastoral Visitation and Counseling are available to the Deaf community and parents
of Deaf children through home visiting and hospital and nursing home visitations.
Appropriate referrals are provided when necessary.

Lay Leadership Development takes place through active involvement on the Deaf
Pastoral Council and the Liturgy Planning Team, participation on various committees,
and attendance at national and regional workshops.

Special Events sponsored by the Catholic Deaf and open to all Deaf persons include
an annual Mass at the Grotto, Christmas party, and our annual summer picnic.

Outreach Projects are selected each year to help meet the needs of people in our area.

Interpreting Services / Advocacy are provided for members of the Deaf community in
church related situations.
