The Office of Justice and Peace for the Archdiocese of Portland exists to provide support and information on social justice issues in our local and global community. We believe in the dignity of the human person and the role of the Church in protecting and enhancing this dignity. We encourage the Catholic community of western Oregon to reflect on the living tradition of Catholic social thought and we work to stimulate/network creative social action for the common good.

We rely on a number of amazing partners in the quest for social justice.  These include the Archdiocesan Catholic Campaign for Human Development Committee, the Archdiocesan Justice and Peace Commission, and specific committees working on each of our annual gatherings.  Their participation ensures that the social justice work of the Archdiocese thrives.
