WELCOME!

We are pleased to present to you the 2003-2004 Media Catalog.  Our goal is to make the process of searching and ordering media resources from the Resource Center as quick, easy, and painless as possible.  We think you will find this catalog even  easier to use than last year. This year we happy to announce that we have made some improvements to the Catalog Search System. In addition to the search capabilities and special collections section where all resources have been neatly categorized by specific subject topics, we've added the capability to search by subject. Check out the subject quick start or the subject search page to see how easy it is to find resources. The shopping cart function allows you to select resources, quantities (where applicable...we don't always have multiple copies of materials) and store these selections for a quicker check-out process.  And for those of you who have email access...ordering is just a click away.  We have an order forms and a registration section, including a monthly newsletter featuring new purchases here at the Resource Center.  Feel free to look around.  If you can think of any subject headings we've overlooked, or just want to send us your comments, please drop us a line.  And look forward to some even more exciting improvements next year.

This year we've made the catalog system much quicker and easier (as well as more efficient).  There are two methods of accessing the catalog.  METHOD ONE is the traditional, basic approach.  METHOD TWO is a subject specific approach.  So sit back, take your time, explore, and find out what the Resource Center and Media Catalog 2004 has to offer you!

METHOD ONE: If you are unsure what titles you are looking for, but only wish to search a particular media type, use the media catalog sidebar to select the media type you wish to search (Resources are categorized into different media types) and use the built in search functions.

The QuickStart feature, allows you to quickly search each subject and then go directly to the resource listings.

METHOD TWO: If you wish to search specific subjects or series or by age level, use the special sections sidebar. (Resources are categorized into different subject headings.) The Special Collections section will allow you to choose and search from a variety of topics for more successful searches.

All search pages now feature the built in search functions. The search feature can be used in a variety of ways. Simply typing in a word or parts of words works the best. This method will provide only those resources that match your request and narrows your search considerably. The search function will also inform you when no resources match your request. If you use parts of words, you may wish to place a space after the word to keeps search results smaller. For instance, if you type in advent, you may get two different results: advent and adventure. Putting a space after advent reduces the number of results. The chronological feature provides you with a complete resource listing in numerical order and the alphabetical feature provides you with a complete resource listing in alphabetical order.
