MISSION 2004
Volunteer Positions

Thank you for your willingness to help with this event.  We are expecting 5000 people and we need your assistance!  Let us know in which area you can help:

1.  CAMPUS ENVIRONMENT
 Helps to decorate the University of Portland campus with balloons, ribbons, etc. Volunteers work with Cathy Shannon.
Shift: 8:00-11:00am, June 6th

2.  SPRINKLING RITE
Serves as a liturgical minister by participating in the sprinkling rite during the Mission 2004 Mass.  Participants who have ethnic clothing or costumes are encouraged to wear them.  Those who can attend the Volunteer Meeting on Sunday, May 23 from 1pm to 4pm at the University of Portland are asked to do so.  Volunteers work with Linda Weigel.
 Mandatory Rehearsal: 10:00-11:15am, June 6th

3.  EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST
Must be a practicing Eucharistic Minister in your own parish.  Helps distribute the Precious Blood to all gathered for Mass in the Chiles Center.  Must be able to navigate steps easily.  Must dress appropriately – no t-shirts, shorts, jeans, etc.  Those who can attend the Volunteer Meeting on Sunday, May 23 from 1pm to 4pm at the University of Portland are asked to do so.
Mandatory Rehearsal: 10:30-11:45am, June 6th

4.  USHERS
Must attend the Volunteers Meeting on Sunday, May 23 from 1pm to 4pm at the University of Portland.  Helps with seating of guests, collection, and flow of communion.  Must be able to navigate steps easily.  Works with Jay Wonacott.
Shift:  11:30am-4:30pm, June 6th

5.  HOSPITALITY
Greeters are stationed throughout the U of P campus and inside the Chiles Center arena to welcome and greet all who come to the event. Works with Claire Woodruff and Tania DeSantis.
Shift:  11:00am-1:30pm, June 6th
