In
honor of the 2,000th anniversary of the birth of the Apostle
Paul, Pope Benedict XVI has designated June 28, 2008 to June 29, 2009,
as the Pauline Year. Our Holy Father is granting a Plenary Indulgence in
honor of the Anniversary.
Within
the Archdiocese of Portland, this indulgence can be obtained under the
usual conditions (sacramental Confession, Holy Communion, prayer for the
intentions of the Holy Father) in the following ways.
By
participating in any religious function or pious exercise on June 28, 2008
and June 29, 2009 in any place of worship
By
participating in any religious function or pious exercise held publicly
in honor of St. Paul throughout the Pauline Year
By
participating in any religious function or pious exercise throughout the
Pauline Year at holy places named for St. Paul and in the following places
designated by Archbishop Vlazny:
