ANGEL A. PEREZ TO BE ORDAINED DEACON

        Archbishop John G. Vlazny will ordain Mr. Angel A. Perez a transitional deacon on
Saturday, February 24. The Mass of Ordination will be celebrated at St. Luke Church in
Woodburn beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Mr. Angel Perez is the son of Elisa Perez and the late Luis A. Perez. He was born
in La Barca, Jalisco, Mexico, where he attended elementary and secondary schools,
graduating from high school in 1979. He graduated from the College Grecolatino in
1981 and from the National Politecnico Instituto in 1984.

        Mr. Perez entered Mount Angel Seminary in the fall of 1996. His ministry training
assignments have included work at St. Mary Star of the Sea, Astoria, the Los
Embajadores Program in Tijuana, Mexico, St. John the Apostle Parish in Oregon City, at
the Oregon State Hospital in Salem, and at St. Anne Parish in Grants Pass.

        Mr. Angel Perez will continue his current service at St. Anne Parish in Grants
Pass. Next fall he will return to Mount Angel Seminary to continue his studies toward
ordination to the priesthood.
