ANNUAL CATHOLIC YOUNG ADULT CONFERENCE PLANNED
The annual Catholic young adult conference will be held in Seaside, OR,
November 9 - 11. The conference provides
an exciting time of celebration, fun and
personal reflection. The conference will
provide participants with an opportunity for
reflection on their life, parish and ministry.
Keynote speaker for this year's event will be
Matt Manion.
Matt
Manion is the Young Adult Ministry Coordinator for the Archdiocese of
Philadelphia, where he also coordinates
the young adult efforts as part of the Disciples
in Mission process. He serves on the faculty
of the National Young Adult Ministry
Certificate program. Born and raised in
Philadelphia, Manion studied Marketing at the
Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
He has served as the Executive
Director of the Catholic Leadership Institute,
a non-profit organization, whose mission is to "empower people with the
finest leadership and personal development tools,
combined with the teachings of Jesus Christ
and the Catholic Church, to help them
reach their God-given potential as Catholic
leaders and Christian witnesses in their
family, workplace, community, or church."
Workshops at the conference will include: social justice by Brother Mark
Schroeder, OFM; Father Heiko Junge will
discuss having a personal relationship with
God; relationships with others will be
presented by Matt and Kristina Kallen; and a
workshop "the greatest of these is love"
will be presented by Chrissy Weston.
The cost of the conference is $70 with registration postmarked by
October 31st and $80 with registration
after October 31st. The registration fee includes
conference gatherings, workshops, and
lunch and dinner on Saturday. Lodging is not
included. Participants must be 18 years
of age or older, and have graduated from high
school. Registration should be sent to
