ARCHDIOCESE WELCOMES ASSISTANT YOUTH MINISTER
The Archdiocese of Portland welcomes Michal T. Horace as assistant director
for
Archdiocesan youth and young adult ministry.
His duties will involve coordinating the
direct services for the Archdiocesan office
including development of the International
World Youth Day trip, youth retreats and
camps, youth conferences and rallies,
participation in the National Catholic
Youth conference and service programs.
Michal most recently served as youth minister / director of youth ministry
at the
National Shrine of Our Lady of Snows in
Belleville, IL. In that role he collaborated with
regional diocesan youth ministers and
national youth ministry organizations. Other
pastoral experiences included being director
of youth ministry at Assumption Catholic
Church in St. Louis, MO, assistant youth
minister at Blessed Sacrament parish in
Alexandria, VA and serving as youth minister
for a five-parish program in Arlington, VA.
Mr. Horace received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering
at Parks
College of St. Louis University, Cahokia,
IL. He received a Religious Education
Certificate from the Paul VI Institute
of Catechetical & Pastoral Studies, St. Louis, MO,
and a Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies
from the Center for Ministry
Development/Archdiocese of St. Louis.
He is currently working on a Master of Arts in
Pastoral Studies through the Aquinas Institute
of Theology, St. Louis, MO.
Michal is an accomplished performance and liturgical singer and musician.
Michal is happy to be part of the Archdiocesan
Office of Youth and Young Adult
Ministry.
