CATHOLIC MENTAL HEALTH MINISTRY PLANS TWO PROGRAMS
The Archdiocesan Office for People with Disabilities, Catholic Mental Health
Ministry has announced two programs beginning
in January. The first is a monthly
prayer service for individuals and families
concerned about and affected by mental
health issues. The first gathering will
be at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center (2838 E.
Burnside Street, Portland) on Sunday,
January 5th, from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. The monthly
prayer services are planned for the first
Sunday of each month.
Catholic Mental Health Ministry is offering a four-part information series
on
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
(AD/HD). This series is designed for parents
and caregivers of children diagnosed with
or exhibiting symptoms of AD/HD. The
workshops will consider basic information
about the diagnosis of AD/HD, treatment
options, family, school and social issues,
and will consider basic intervention methods.
The series will be held at the Archdiocesan
Pastoral Center on Tuesdays, January 14
and 28, and February 11 and 25. The sessions
will be from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
The Catholic Mental Health Ministry offers practical and pastoral support
to
individuals and families affected by mental
health issues. It provides resources,
consultation, and training opportunities
for parishioners, parish staff and pastors to
support and assist individuals and families
affected by mental health issues.
