Summer Institute Looks at the Formation of Ministers
Parish ministers in the Archdiocese will have an opportunity to gather
around the
common theme "Parish Ministries and the
Formation of Ministers." The Archdiocesan
Office of Ministry Formation's Summer
Institute will be held July 26 – 27, 2002. The
Keynote speaker for this year's Institute
will be Father Arturo Bañuelas. The Institute
will be held at St. Pius X parish (1280
Saltzman Road, Portland).
Father Bañuelas received his theology degree from the Gregorian
University in
Rome. His is past president of the Academy
of Catholic Hispanic theologians of the
U.S. He is editor of the book Mestizo
Christianity. Father Bañuelas is pastor of St.
Pius X Church in El Paso, Texas. His parish
was featured in Excellent Catholic
Parishes: The Guide to Places and Practices.
He is also the founder and Director of the
Tepeyac Institute, the ministry formation
program for the Diocese of El Paso.
The Institute will have time for prayer, discussion and sharing of meals.

Cost
of the Institute is $35 (includes presentation,
breakfast, lunch/refreshments);
presentation with no meals is $20; Saturday
afternoon only with lunch is $20; and
Saturday afternoon without lunch is $10.

later than July 18, 2002.
