Building a Culture of Life
The Archdiocese of Portland's Respect Life Office is pleased to welcome
Father
Richard Hogan, Ph.D., for a series of
lectures throughout western Oregon. Father
Hogan, a priest of the Archdiocese of
Minneapolis, will lay the philosophical and
theological foundation of Catholic teaching
on life issues and address practical and
effective ways for promoting respect life
principles, offering pastoral direction for
assisting people in their real-life questions.
Father Hogan will speak at St. Joseph Parish Hall (721 Chemeketa Street)
in
Salem on Tuesday, November 5 from 7 pm
to 9 pm. His talk will be "Building a Culture
of Life." On Wednesday, November 6 he
will speak at the Southern Oregon University
Newman Center (1150 Ashland Street) in
Ashland from 6-8 pm. His talk will be "Jesus
Christ and the Human Person." He will
speak at a prayer breakfast at Our Lady of the
Mountain Parish Hall (987 Hillview Dr.)
in Ashland at 8:30 am on Thursday, November
7, and that evening from 7-9 pm at Sacred
Heart Parish Hall (449 S. Ivy) in Medford.
Registration is not required, nor is there a fee, for the presentations
in Salem,
Ashland or Medford.
In the Portland area, Father Hogan will present a workshop, "Building a
Culture
of Life: Catholic Principles Across the
Life Cycle." The workshop will be held at the
Providence Medical Center Amphitheatre
(4805 NE Glisan) in Portland on Saturday,
November 9th. The day will begin with
Mass at 8:00 am and the workshop will run from
9 am until 3:30 pm.
Registration is required for the Portland workshop. The fee is $15, which
includes a light lunch. For registration
