Archdiocesan Young Adult Conference set for Lincoln City

        The annual Archdiocesan Young Adult Conference is planned for November 8 –
10 at the Shilo Inn Oceanfront Resort in Lincoln City. Doug Brummel and Dr. Robert
McCarty will be the keynote speakers. All participants at the young adult conference
must be 18 years of age or older and be out of high school. The cost of the conference
is $80 before October 18th, $95 after October 18th, and includes lunch and a dinner
banquet, but does not include lodging. Lodging information will be available with the
registration brochure. Onsite childcare options are available.

        Bob McCarty is a passionate international speaker on Catholicism and ministry to
youth and young adults in the Catholic Church. He is currently Executive Director of the
National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry, which provides networking, resources,
and leadership for the development of youth ministry within the Catholic Church. He has
been in professional ministry since 1973, serving in diocesan, parish, school and
community programs. The author of four books, McCarty is a volunteer in his parish
youth ministry program at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Fulton, Maryland. McCarty
received his Doctorate of Ministry from the Graduate Theological Foundation in Indiana
in May 1998.

        Doug Brummel, husband, father, and nationally-known Catholic comedian,
storyteller, musician and teacher travels the United States entertaining and
evangelizing people of all ages. His captivating style stirs the hearts, minds, and souls
of all who attend his presentations. His multi-generational style emphasizes life-long
conversion. The joy and richness of our Catholic heritage shines through the many
stories which are shared by Doug's character portrayals. They help us lighten up, laugh
and learn about our faith - all at the same time.
