ANNUAL MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR CATHOLIC
MEMORIAL MASS
The 2003 special celebration of Mass honoring
Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,
will occur on Saturday, January 18, 2003,
at the Cathedral of the Immaculate
Conception. Archbishop John G. Vlazny,
Archbishop of Portland, will be the celebrant
and homilist for the Mass.
This will be the first celebration of this
Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate
Conception. This Mass has been celebrated
annually since 1988, and has rotated
between Holy Redeemer, Immaculate Heart
and St. Andrew Catholic Churches. The
combined gospel choirs of Immaculate Heart
and St. Andrew Churches will provide the
music for this year's celebration.
DATE: Saturday, January 18, 2003
TIME: 5:30 P.M.
PLACE: Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception
N.W. 18th & Couch Streets
Portland, OR
The African-American Catholic Community
of Oregon (AACCO) and the Archdiocese of
Portland are sponsoring the Mass.
