Day of Retreat for Young Women
A "Day of Retreat for Young Women" is scheduled for Saturday, October 18.
The retreat is planned for single Catholic
women between the ages of 16 and 45 years
of age. The day is a cooperative effort
of the Archdiocese of Portland and the women in
religious orders in the Archdiocese. The
retreat will begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue
until 3:00 p.m., and will be held at the
Griffin Center (7414 SE Michael Dr.) in Milwaukie,
next to La Salle High School. The theme
of the day will be "Come and follow Me."
The day will give participants the opportunity to visit with women in religious
orders who find great joy in serving the
Lord. Speaks include Mary Jo Tully, Chancellor
and Coordinator for Religious for the
Archdiocese of Portland, Father Kelly Vandehey,
Archdiocesan Vocations Director, and the
Vocations Directors for various communities
of women religious. The day includes time
for Mass and Eucharistic Adoration.
There is no charge for the retreat, and lunch is provided. Registration
must be
received by October 11, 2003. To register,
