Application Process

To apply for a specific position listed below, you should follow the directions in the posting or contact the principal directly for information regarding the vacancy. 

While all teachers of Religion must be Catholic, it is recognized that teachers of other faiths can make valuable contributions as members of the teaching staff.  These teachers should be employed on the condition that they understand and are fully committed to the distinctive purpose and spirit of Catholic education.

To be placed in the substitute applicant pool

Applicants who hold valid current Oregon Teaching Licenses or who are in the process of receiving such licenses are eligible for teaching positions in the Archdiocese of Portland.  Applicants who have an out-of-of-state teaching license may submit an application; however, they must be in contact with Teacher Standards and Practices Commission about the requirements for an Oregon License.

Our Learning Support Center is a unique and dynamic program. Our team includes a full time specialist through the University of Portland PACE program, and several aides providing small group or one on one support for students. We are looking for team leader who brings experience working with students with special needs. Students receiving services are on accommodation or Individualized Learning Plans, and push in or pull out instruction is tailored to the individual needs of the child. Under the direction of the principal, the Learning Specialist plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings.

The role of the Learning Specialist is to support students with different learning styles by providing intervention; support teachers in their efforts to advance students with different learning needs within the classroom; work with parents, students, and outside professionals in order to better support special needs students. The teacher’s broad area of responsibility is to ensure that each student may learn and flourish spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically. Each student, guided by the Learning Specialist is expected to achieve at a high academic and personal level, according to his/her potential.
